As a Senior Full-Stack Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable military ground control station applications coordinating various effectors and integrating with external systems in real-time mission-critical environments. Your roadmap to make an impactOwn the backend and integration layer for ground systems the services connecting operator tools, vehicles, sensors, and mission infrastructure Design event-driven architectures and durable interface contracts so frontend, embedded, and partner systems can integrate and evolve safely Build software that holds up in real operations, from telemetry pipelines to deployment, and follow problems across service boundaries end to end (including occasional lab or field support) Raise engineering standards through design, code review, and mentoring, working closely with frontend, embedded, and guidance/navigation/control engineers We care more about strong software engineers than checkbox perfection. Technical skillsBachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, plus 5+ years of commercial backend/platform development (no mission-domain background required) Strong Python skills, it's the primary language for integration work on this team Experience with service design, event-driven systems, async messaging, and evolving APIs without breaking consumers Hands-on experience with contract-first interfaces: OpenAPI and Protocol Buffers Track record building production APIs and real-time channels (REST, WebSockets, pub-sub) Practical understanding of latency and performance trade-offs in system design Comfortable with PostgreSQL, Redis, and choosing the right tool for the workload Experience on Linux with Docker and CI/CD, with a solid grasp of HTTP servers and reverse proxies Hands-on observability skills: structured logging, metrics, and production experience with Prometheus/Grafana Soft SkillsComfortable working in Scrum or similar agile teams Strong software craftsmanship: testing, debugging distributed issues, code review, and clear communication in English (German a plus) Ownership mindset, you follow problems across service boundaries and take responsibility for making integrations work end to end Nice to HaveROS 2 experience (nodes, topics, services) and familiarity with DDS/QoS Deeper networking knowledge (TCP/IP, UDP, sockets) or hands-on work with Nginx/HAProxy Time-series databases (e.g. InfluxDB) for high-frequency telemetry Additional languages such as TypeScript/Node, Go, or C++ Familiarity with MAVLink or similar vehicle/telemetry protocols Prior work in robotics, autonomous systems, defense, or industrial control software Tech-lead or mentoring experience Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site integration and test campaigns Why TYTAN?Build technology with real operational impact: Develop autonomous defence systems designed to protect lives and strengthen Europe’s security Shape scalable defence capabilities: Work on solutions built for mass deployment, cost efficiency, resil
