Who we are
We're bold thinkers and kind teammates, growing fast but staying grounded. Our Nordic roots and global outlook shape a culture of friendliness, creativity, and collaboration, all powered by openness and shared wins. We care deeply about doing the right thing, and doing it together. We aim to improve the flow of goods, time, and energy, and we know we can't shape the future by clinging to the past. So, we keep evolving, together.
What we do
RELEX runs the planning decisions behind 600+ retailers and manufacturers worldwide, deciding, at real scale, what gets forecast, stocked, priced, promoted, and produced across the entire value chain. Few problems combine this much data, this much complexity, and this much real-world weight: get it right and a shelf stays stocked, a factory line doesn’t stall, food doesn’t spoil in a warehouse before it’s sold. Get it wrong, and it shows up in actual losses, for some of the largest retail and manufacturing brands in the world.
We’ve grown for 76 consecutive quarters straight, and it’s still accelerating. The first half of 2026 was the strongest in the company’s history. We’re a team of 2,000+ people, headquartered in Helsinki, with offices across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.
In response to our fast growth, we're looking for a Product Engineer to help reinvent how RELEX builds and ships forecasting models. As a team, we own forecasting end to end for our retail and wholesale customers — both the new plugin-based models we're building and the models already running in production. We're reinventing how RELEX builds and ships forecasting, moving from a small number of monolithic models to a growing library of purpose-built, plugin-based ones, used by 400 to 500+ customers. This role sits at the core of that.
What we need you to do and be
Bring your ideas. Challenge ours. Grow with us.
You will design, build and improve our plugin-based forecasting models end to end: feature engineering, testing, and iterating on performance in live customer environments
You will take forecasting problems from business need to a working model running for a customer, with real ownership over the decisions along the way
You will work directly across multiple customer environments, figuring out what generalizes and what needs to stay customer-specific
You will use AI and agentic tools as a core part of how you build, pushing what they can do rather than using them passively
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy in a distributed team, without a fixed playbook for how the work gets done
What you'll bring to the table
Our five values are our playbook. We speak up when things don't make sense. We stop doing what doesn't add value. We stay curious, back each other up, and make space for both innovation and laughter.
Applied or theoretical understanding of modern forecasting and modelling methods
A proven track record of independently owning ML or modelling work end to end, from first concept to running in production.
Genuine enthusiasm for agentic, AI-assisted engineering, and comfort being evaluated on how you reason through problems and direct AI tools, not only on manual coding
Comfort working with real ambiguity and no fixed process
Confidence making decisions independently and shipping in weeks, not months
Comfort communicating directly with customers and cross-functional stakeholders
Willingness to travel occasionally for customer work (roughly 1 to 2 trips a year)
As a bonus, prior experience in retail or supply chain is welcome but not required
Fluent in written and spoken English
As a bonus, we consider the experience of working with an international team, plus great communication and organizational skills
What we offer in return
You'll be supported and given the space to thrive. We offer meaningful work
